UFC 163 Weigh-In Results
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (The Spread) – The fighters hit the scales for UFC 163 on Friday, making the main-card bouts official. Here is a look at the weigh-in results.
UFC 163 will take place from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET.
The main event of Saturday’s card is for the UFC Featherweight Championship with Jose Aldo (22-1) defending his championship against No. 1 contenter, Chan Sung Jung (13-3). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Aldo is the clear favorite to win this bout, as he has odds of -750 to win, while Jung has been given a money line of +475 to win. Jung hit the scales at the weight limit of 145 pounds, as did Aldo. Aldo looked to be more drawn of the two, as he cuts a lot of weight. The two had a respectful star down, but clearly they seem eager to square off. Both men have explosive striking and the ability to finish the fight on the feet or the ground. Aldo has the experience edge, but Jung is fearless and will bring the fight to the champion.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card is a light heavyweight clash between Lyoto Machida (19-3) and Phil Davis (11-1). According to oddsmakers, Machida is the favorite in this fight, as he has odds of -350 to win, while Davis has a money line of +265 to win. On Friday, Davis hit the scales at 205 pounds. Machida also weighed in at 205 pounds for the 205-pound fight. The two had a quiet and timid stare down, as neither man tends to get too emotional. Machida should win this fight if it stays standings, while Davis can win if he can get Machida to the ground.
