LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The bad blood between Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber should finally be settled on Saturday in the main event of UFC 132.

These two met a few years ago with Faber winning, but Cruz has been dominant since and comes into the fight as the UFC Bantamweight Champion. According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Bodog Cruz is favored to win the rematch with odds of -155 while Faber has odds of +125. UFC 132 takes place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and airs live on PPV, starting at 9PM ET.

Cruz (17-1) is the champion and he has never lost at bantamweight (135 pounds) while Faber is fighting at this weight for just the third time. Cruz is a very elusive fighter. His footwork and movement is as strong as anyone in MMA and it causes real problems for his opponents. He also has very strong and explosive takedowns, which he likes to mix in at the end of rounds to help secure the round in the eyes of the judges. Cruz’ opponent, Faber, has not been on a real dominant stretch in his career and at 32-years-old, he may be on the downside of his career.

Faber (25-4) has long been considered one of the top lighter weight fighters in the world. He was the WEC Featherweight Champion for a long stretch, which included a win over Cruz back in 2007. Faber has good, quick hands and is a very good grappler. But, for this fight, he is probably going to have to be a reactionary fighter because of Cruz’ style. Faber will have to pick his spots and make the most out of each opportunity. He will not easily be rattled, as he has been in a number of big fights in his career, and he already got his UFC debut out of the way, while Cruz has to deal with the nerves of making his debut in the octagon.

Both men are quite capable of winning, but my pick is with the champion by decision. Cruz is a much different fighter than when he last fought Faber and the loss to Faber has a lot to do with that. I don’t think Faber will be able to land a lot of clean shots on Cruz and he will struggle with Cruz’ explosive takedowns. I look for Cruz to dictate the pace and style of the fight, which will give him the decision victory.
