Dos Santos showed impressive striking the entire contest and nearly had Carwin knocked out in the first round. Dos Santos then went on to show impressive take down defense skills and even mixed in a few takedowns of his own to earn the nod on all three judges’ scorecards. According to online sportsbook Bodog dos Santos was the favorite to win with odds of -165, which means a $165 bet on dos Santos will pay out an additional $100.

In the co-main event, Kenny Florian defeated Diego Nunes by unanimous decision in a hard-fought contest. Florian struggled in the opening round of his featherweight debut, but then took care of a fatigued Nunes to earn the final two rounds and get the victory.
