LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The UFC Heavyweight Championship is up for grabs on Saturday night as the main event of UFC 146. View Real-Time Sports Betting Odds UFC 146 takes place Saturday night and the main card will air live on Pay-Per-View at 10PM ET. The event takes place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Preliminary bouts will air live on FX at approximately 8PM ET. The main event of Saturday’s card has UFC Heavyweight champ Junior Dos Santos (14-1) defending his title against former champion Frank Mir (16-5). According to oddsmakers, Dos Santos is the favorite to win this bout, as he has a money line of -535 to win, while Mir has odds of +385 to prevail. Dos Santos has been a beast in the UFC, going 8-0 with six knockout victories. He has big-time punching power and very good speed, as he is light for a heavyweight. Mir is one of the top submission fighters in the world and he will likely have a great advantage if the fight goes to the ground. Mir has struggled against powerful strikers in the past, but Dos Santos has never been tested on the ground. If Mir can get the fight to the ground, he can win. If the fight stays standings, it is hard to see Dos Santos not getting the victory. In the co-main event, heavyweights Cain Velasquez (9-1) takes on Antonio Silva (16-3). According to oddsmakers, Velasquez is the favorite to win this contest, as he has odds of -400 to win, while Silva has a money line of +300 to prevail. Velasquez is the former UFC champion but coming off a quick KO loss to Dos Santos last November. He has eight KO wins in his career and is also an All-American wrestler in college. Silva is making his UFC debut after spending the past few years in Strikeforce. He is a long-armed fighter with good power and strength. He will probably struggle with the explosive wrestling of Velasquez, but could win the stand up battle due to his reach. Velasquez may struggle on his feet after getting knocked out in his last fight. Sometimes fighters come back tentative after being KO’d for the first time.
