Mayweather Jr. (42-0-0) faces Cotto (37-2-0) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The fight will air live on HBO PPV.

According to the latest oddsmakers, Mayweather Jr. has expanded his odds event greater for this fight, as he is now a -800 favorite to beat Cotto. The champion comes into the contest with a money line of +550.

Mayweather was a -700 favorite in the middle of last week while Cotto had odds of +450, but as the fight has gotten closer, the betters still seem to be siding with the unbeaten challenger. It is easy to understand, as Mayweather Jr. is largely considered the top boxer in the world regardless of weight class. He is coming off a fourth-round KO of Victor Ortiz in his last bout back in September, which was his fastest win in quite some time. Typically, Mayweather likes to pick apart his opponents slowly with his speed and counter strikes. If he finishes the fight, it is typically in the later rounds.

Cotto has 30 KO victories in his career and he is currently riding a three-fight win streak with his last win coming against Antonio Margarito, which avenged one of his two losses. His other loss came at the hands of Manny Pacquiao, and it was by TKO in the 12th round. Cotto is a strong puncher that will be the bigger fighter on Saturday. He weighed in at exactly 154 pounds, the weight class limit, while Mayweather was 151. Cotto may have been able to pack on more weight as the fight approaches, which means if he connects on Mayweather, it could be a KO.
