Henderson vs. Bocek Free Pick
TORONTO, Ontario (TheSpread) – One of the featured bouts at Saturday’s UFC 129 is a lightweight clash between Ben Henderson and Mark Bocek.
Henderson enters the fight as the slight favorite according to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Bodog.com as he has odds of -145 while Bocek has a money line of +115. UFC 129 takes place from the Rogers Centre and will air live on Pay-Per-View at 9PM ET.
WHY PICK HENDERSON
Henderson (12-2) is making his first UFC appearance as he was a former WEC lightweight champion. Henderson has beaten some of the best in the WEC and shown tremendous wrestling and submission skills. He has great cardio and can push a fast pace and he has typically done very well against grapplers, which Bocek is.
WHY PICK BOCEK
Bocek (9-3) is an exceptional submission grappler that has 7 of his 9 wins by submission. The Canadian native will be fighting in front of his home town on Saturday night, which should give him an extra boost. On the other hand, his opponent is making his UFC debut, which can always lead to some extra nerves.
WHO TO PICK?
I like Henderson in this bout because his strength and size should be enough of a problem for Bocek on the ground. I see Henderson controlling the fight on the ground with his size and avoiding submission attempts while earning a decision victory. Henderson is the better striker of the two as well, so I think he can really dictate how this fight goes.
UFC 129 FREE PICK: BEN HENDERSON -145
