SEATTLE, WA (TheSpread) – The UFC hosts a live event on free television Saturday night with UFC Fight Night 24. Here is a look at a few picks to consider for this event.

UFC Fight Night 24 takes place from the Key Arena and will air live on Spike TV at 10PM ET. Some preliminary fights will be offered on Facebook starting at 7PM ET. Odds for the bouts are according to online sportsbook Bodog.com.

Main Event – Light Heavyweight Bout – Phil Davis (8-0) vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (19-4)

Davis is the heavy favorite coming into this bout for a reason. His wrestling and strength are hard for many of his opponents to match and in this contest, Nogueira will likely struggle to stay off his back. Nogueira has the better striking, so Davis will look to take the fight to the ground early and often. While Nogueira is formidable on his back, he likely won’t be able to submit Davis, which is why my pick is for Davis to win by decision. FREE PICK – PHIL DAVIS -350

Welterweight Bout – Dan Hardy (23-8) vs. Anthony Johnson (8-3)

Johnson comes into this contest with more explosiveness but Hardy is the better technical striker and been in more wars. Johnson has struggled in fights that go more than a round while Hardy has had to grind out three-round victories before. I look for Hardy to mix up his boxing and show improved grappling skills to pick up a TKO win in the third round over a fatigued Johnson. FREE PICK – DAN HARDY +140

Featherweight Bout – Leonard Garcia (19-6-1) vs. Chan Sung Jung (10-3)

This is a rematch of a classic slugfest last April where Garcia won a controversial decision. This time around, I see Jung getting the win as he throws better technical strikes and he can really take a punch. Garcia is a scrapper, but he leaves himself wide open to counters with his looping strikes. I see Jung capitalizing on Garcia’s mistakes to earn a TKO finish in the second round. FREE PICK – CHAN SUNG JUNG -110
