UFC 157 Weigh-In Results
ANAHEIM, CA (The Spread) – The weigh ins for UFC 157 are complete and all main-card fighters were able to make weight. Here is a look at the final weigh-in results for this card.
UFC 157 will take place from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET.
The main event of Saturday’s card is the inaugural women’s bout in the UFC and is for the Women’s Bantamweight Championship as champion Ronda Rousey (6-0) defends her title against Liz Carmouche (8-2). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Rousey is the overwhelming favorite to win this bout, as she has odds of -1100 to win. Carmouche comes in with a money line of +650. On Friday, Rousey weighed in at 134.6 pounds for the 135-pound bout while Carmouche hit the scales at 133.6 pounds. The two had an intense, but respectful stare down following their weigh in. Saturday’s fight will be big for the future of women’s MMA, as these two are carrying the torch for female MMA fighters everywhere, especially since they will be the main event of a PPV card.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card is a light-heavyweight clash between two top contenders as Lyoto Machida (18-3) takes on Dan Henderson (29-8). According to oddsmakers, Machida is the slight favorite in this bout, as he has odds of -225 to win, while Henderson has a money line of +175 to win. Machida came in at 202 pounds, which is surprisingly light for the 205-pound weight limit. Henderson hit exactly at 205 pounds. Nothing too exciting took place in their stare down, as both men tend to be even keel. Starting fast will be the key in this fight since both men tend to start somewhat slow and this fight is only 15 minutes.
