Miller vs. Wiman Prediction
KILLEEN, TX (TheSpread) – In what could be fight of the night, lightweights Cole Miller and Matt Wiman will square off at UFC Fight For The Troops 2 on Saturday.
UFC Fight For The Troops 2 takes place from Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas and will air live on Spike TV at 9PM ET. Miller enters the fight as the favorite according to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com as he has betting odds of -165 while Wiman comes into the fight with odds of +135.
Cole Miller (17-4)
Miller is an aggressive fighter that is mostly known for his submission ability, but his striking has been improving over the years. Miller hasn’t let a fight go to a decision since 2007, and he takes pride in finishing his opponents. He is riding a two-fight win steak and has a lot of confidence, but he will be pushed in this fight by Wiman, who has a similar style and isn’t afraid to mix it up.
Matt Wiman (12-5)
Wiman is a scrapper as well that pushes a furious pace and has been difficult to stop. Wiman is a good grappler with good strength and he also has a good chin. He is smaller in size than Miller, which could pose a problem when the fight gets to the ground, but Wiman will be looking to score takedowns and avoid submissions.
Who To Pick?
It is hard to pick against Miller because he is so adamant about finishing his opponents. In a fight that is close in talent level and style, you have to side with the guy that will fight with more heart and urgency, and I expect Miller to be that fighter. Look for him to find a way to secure a choke in the third round to get another big win. UFC FREE PICK: COLE MILLER -165
