Louisville men’s college basketball coach Rick Pitino told police that he had sex with Karen Sypher in August of 2003 and paid for her to have an abortion. Sypher is currently trying to extort Pitino for $10 million.
Minnesota Timberwolves president David Kahn admitted that point guard Ricky Rubio’s buyout situation is still very problematic. Kahn isn’t sure when Rubio, whom the T-Wolves took with the fifth overall pick in this year’s NBA draft, will come to the United States.
Glen “Big Baby” Davis can rest easy again, as he’ll return to the Boston Celtics after reaching a two-year deal worth roughly $6 million. Davis, who helped the Celtics win an NBA championship in his rookie season, was a restricted free agent.
Roddy White’s contract holdout is officially over, as the Atlanta Falcons signed their top receiver to a new six-year, $50 million contract over the weekend. White will also earn $18 million in guarantees.
Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz officially addressed the media on Saturday in regards to his positive steroids test in 2003. Ortiz apologized to his teammates for the “distraction,” and also stated that he never buys or uses steroids.
