(The Spread) – The Rangers and Tigers pulled off a blockbuster trade earlier this week and their 2014 World Series odds have been impacted because of it.
On Tuesday the Rangers acquired Fielder and cash considerations from the Tigers in exchange for Kinsler. The move will force Miguel Cabrera back to first base and open up a spot for prospect Nick Castellanos, who should be ready to take over at third base for the Tigers next season.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Tigers’ World Series odds went from 9/1 down to 17/2 following the acquisition of Kinsler. The Rangers’ championship odds also climbed from 16/1 to 12/1 after acquiring Fielder.
Bovada.lv has also released prop odds surrounding the trade. The over/under for Fielder’s batting average in the 2014 regular season has been set at .280, and the over/under total for home runs is 29.5. As far as his RBIs and runs, the over/under for Fielder’s RBIs is 102.5 and his o/u for runs is 83.5.
For Kinsler, his over/under for batting average is .260 and his o/u for home runs is 15.5 now that he’s with the Tigers. His projected RBI total is sitting at 65.5 and his runs are set at 92.5.
