(The Spread) – Campaigning has ended across America and voters are heading to the polls. Which party is currently favored to win the 2012 U.S. Presidential Election?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Democratic Party is a clear favorite to win the 2012 U.S. Presidential Election at –450. The Republican Party, meanwhile, is a +325 underdog on the moneyline.

The odds have stayed relatively steady over the past couple of months, although the Democratic Party has seen their odds of winning increase since early September. They were –205 on the money line a couple of months ago, while the Republican Party was +165. In early August, the Democratic Party was –155 on the money line, while the Republican Party was +145.

Perhaps the dominant issue of this election was the state of the economy. Has current president Barack Obama done enough in the past four years to improve upon the recession that had just begun to take hold in the closing weeks of his 2008 campaign? Has Obama done enough to add jobs or will Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romeny (and his business acumen) do more to make sure that Americans can earn a living?

We’ll find out soon enough.
