NEW YORK, NY (The Spread) – Will A-Rod return to the Yankees next season? Let’s take a look at the odds.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Yankees remain a 1/3 favorite to be the team that Alex Rodriguez will play for in game 1 of the 2013 MLB season. The Marlins have odds of 4/1 while “Any Other Team” has odds of 3/1.
Will the Yankees re-sign Ichiro Suzuki for the 2013 season? The odds for yes have been set at 4/7 while the odds for no are 1/1. The odds for whether or not the Yankees will re-sign pitcher Andy Pettitte are flipped, with 1/1 being for “Yes” and 4/7 for “No.”
Finally, will the Yankees re-sign outfielder Nick Swisher for the 2013 MLB season after he was benched for parts of this year’s ALCS versus the Detroit Tigers? The odds of Swisher returning are 3/1 while the odds for him not being re-signed are 1/5.
The Tigers swept the Yankees last week in the 2012 ALCS. Captain Derek Jeter broke his ankle in Game 1 of the series when New York forced extra innings and the Bronx Bombers couldn’t generate much offense after that. It appears as though the Yankees are headed for an interesting offseason.
