LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – The Phillies have had a ton of success against the Nationals over the past two nights but could they struggle tonight?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Nationals are -155 moneyline favorites over the Phillies, who are +143 money line underdogs. The total for this 7:05PM ET start time is currently sitting at 8 runs.
The Phillies are 0-4 in Kendrick’s last four starts versus Nationals and 2-5 in his last seven home starts against the Nationals. They’re also 0-5 in his last five Wednesday starts, 4-11 in his last 15 starts during Game 3 of a series and 2-5 in his last seven starts versus a team with a winning record. They’re 3-7 in Kendrick’s last 10 starts versus the National League East as well.
On the other side, the Nationals are 4-0 in Doug Fister’s last four road starts, 4-0 in his is last four starts as a road favorite and 4-0 in his last four starts during Game 3 of a series. They’re also 11-3 in his last 14 starts as a favorite, 14-4 in his last 18 starts overall and 17-5 in their last 22 during Game 3 of a series.
At -155, the Nationals are a bit of a risk but they’ve lost two in a row to the Phillies, who clearly aren’t as dangerous offensively as Washington. And with Fister on the hill, the Nationals should step up big.
