WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Spread) – The under looks like a solid play tonight when the Nationals host the Diamondbacks at 7:05PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Nationals are -225 money line favorites over the Diamondbacks, who are +206 money line road dogs. The total, meanwhile, is currently sitting at 7 runs at most online and Vegas sports books. The Nationals opened as -200 money line favorites but their odds have climbed to -225, while the D-Backs’ odds have gone from +183 to +206.
Vidal Nuno will take the hill for Arizona tonight sporting a 2-8 record and a 4.92 ERA, while Washington will counter with Jordan Zimmermann, who is 8-5 with a 2.92 ERA. Nuno is 0-3 with a 3.92 ERA in seven starts since being acquired from the Yankees while Zimmermann is 2-2 with a 3.62 ERA in five career starts versus Arizona.
The under is red hot when these two teams face each other, going 4-1 in the last five meetings and 4-1 in Zimmermann’s last five starts against the Diamondbacks. The under is also 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams in Washington and 9-4-3 in Zimmermann’s last 21 home starts when the total is sitting between 7.0 and 8.5.
On the other side, the under is 4-1 in Nuno’s last five starts, 6-1-1 in the Diamondbacks’ last eight games following a loss, and 6-2 in their last eight games as an underdog. The under is also 5-2 in Arizona’s last seven games overall, 7-3 in its last 10 road games and 15-7 in its last 22 games as a road underdog.
