NEW YORK, NY (The Spread) – The Blue Jays visit the Yankees tonight with a starting pitcher that has struggled of late versus the Bronx Bombers.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Yankees are -137 money line home favorites against the visiting Blue Jays, who are +126 money line underdogs. The total for tonight’s 7:05PM ET start time is currently sitting at 8 runs.
The Blue Jays will send Mark Buehrle to the mound versus the Yankees’ Hiroki Kuroda, who is 6-6 with a 3.88 ERA. Buehrle started the season 10-1 over his first 12 starts but hasn’t picked up a victory in any of his last eight outings. Poor run support has been an issue, but Buehrle has had his fair share of problems as well. He’s currently 10-6 with a 2.86 ERA.
According to latest MLB trends, the Blue Jays are just 1-5 in Buehrle’s last six starts versus the Yankees and 0-4 in his last four road starts versus New York. The Jays are also 17-37 in their last 54 games versus the Bombers and 13-41 in their last 54 meetings overall versus New York.
On the other side, the Yankees are 6-2 in Kuroda’s last eight starts against the Blue Jays and 4-1 in his last five starts as a favorite. They’re also 6-1 in their last seven games overall, 5-1 in their last six games as a favorite and 4-1 in their last five games following a win.
