TORONTO, CANADA (The Spread) – The Red Sox will visit the Blue Jays tonight and with Clay Buchholz’s on the mound, another win could be on the horizon for Boston.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Red Sox are -108 money line favorites over the Blue Jays, who are +100 money line underdogs. The total for tonight’s 7:07PM ET start time is currently sitting at 8.5 runs.
Boston will send Clay Buchholz to the mound tonight versus the Blue Jays’ R.A. Dickey. Buchholz is 5-5 on the year with a 5.46 ERA and is coming off a start versus Kansas City in which he allowed four runs and 10 hits over six innings of work. Dickey, meanwhile, is 7-10 with a 3.95 ERA and was knocked around by Texas for five runs in seven innings in his first post-All-Star game start.
The Red Sox are a perfect 9-0 in Buchholz’s last nine road starts versus the Blue Jays and 23-7 in his last 30 starts as a road favorite. They’re also 5-1 in their last six games as a favorite regardless who’s on the mound, and 6-0 in their last six road games versus a right-handed starter.
On the other side, the Jays are just 1-6 in Dicke’s last seven starts, 1-4 in his last five starts as an underdog and 0-4 in his last four starts versus a team with a losing record. The Jays are also 1-4 in their last five games following a win and 1-10 in their last 11 during Game 3 of a series.
