NASHVILLE, TN (The Spread) – The offseason of the arrest continued on Friday in the NFL as Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt was popped for DUI in Nashville.
Britt was reportedly with a female solider attempting to get into Fort Campbell, which is an Army base just north of the Tennessee/Kentucky border. Their vehicle was stopped at the gate where Britt was apprehended. Britt was arrested three times last offseason for various crimes and he’s already had seven incidents involving the police since entering the NFL in 2009.
Britt is the 26th NFL player to be arrested this offseason and the second reported arrest in as many days. KSDK in St. Louis reported on Thursday that Rams defensive end Robert Quinn was also booked for DWI on July 10thin the suburb of Florissant. Quinn was involved in a one-car accident before being arrested for drunken driving as he reportedly crashed on an exit ramp at 5:38 a.m.
Quinn and Britt aren’t the only NFL players that have been booked recently. Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested for driving under the influence in his hometown of Oakland last Saturday after he was weaving lane to lane with two near collisions. Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil was also arrested in Miami last Saturday night and was charged with third-degree felony aggravated assault with a firearm. He and a friend were cut off in their car and when they approached the other driver, they lifted their shirts to reveal their guns.
Oddsmakers currently list the Titans as 50/1 long shots to win the 2013 Super Bowl and 25/1 to win the 2013 AFC Championship. The Titans are also +400 on the money line to win the 2013 AFC South Division, which gives them the next best odds behind the Houston Texans (-350).
