DETROIT, MI (The Spread) – When the Indians and Tigers meet tonight at 7:08PM ET, look for the scoring to be high.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Tigers are -150 money line favorites tonight versus the Indians, who are +138 on the ML. The total, meanwhile, is currently sitting at 8.5 runs.
Cleveland will start Trevor Bauer, who is 3-4 with a 3.84 ERA, versus Detroit’s Anibal Sanchez, who is 6-3 with a 3.04 ERA. Bauer was touched for four runs in 6 1/3 innings the last time he faced Detroit while giving up home runs to Ian Kinsler, Victor Martinez and Rajai Davis. Sanchez is coming off a solid start versus Kansas City but was also pounded for seven runs over 5 2/3 innings against the Rays on July 5.
Latest MLB trends indicate that the over is 7-0 in the last seven meetings between these two teams and 4-1 in the Indians’ last five games versus a right-handed starter. The over is also 6-1 in the Tigers’ last seven home games, 3-1-1 in Sanchez’s last five home starts and 5-1 in their last six games as a home favorite.
