LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Despite Greg Hardy’s suspension being reduced on Friday, the Cowboys’ 2016 Super Bowl odds remained unchanged.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cowboys’ odds to win next year’s NFL title are 10/1, same as they were before Hardy had his 10-game suspension reduced to four games on Friday. Hardy will ultimately miss games against the Giants, Eagles, Falcons and Saints before returning Week 5 to face the Patriots.
Hardy was suspended in April for his role in a 2014 domestic violence incident. Arbitrator Harold Henderson upheld Hardy’s suspension for conduct detrimental to the league, which included the reduced ban.
“I find that the conduct of Hardy clearly violates the letter and spirit of any version of the (personal conduct policy) since its inception, and of the NFL Constitution and Bylaws long before then. The egregious conduct exhibited here is indefensible in the NFL,” Henderson said in a statement obtained by NFL Media’s Albert Breer. “However, ten games is simply too much, in my view, of an increase over prior cases without notice such as was done last year, when the ‘baseline’ for discipline in domestic violence or sexual assault cases was announced as a six-game suspension.”
