NASHVILLE, TN (The Spread) – One of the knocks on Marcus Mariota heading into the 2015 NFL Draft was his accuracy. But that part of his game hasn’t been an issue this offseason.
ESPN.com ran a story this weekend in which Mariota’s accuracy drew high praise from some of his teammates.
“Unbelievable accuracy,” wide receiver Harry Douglas said in the article. “And that’s one thing that makes a receiver dynamic — first being able to catch the ball and then being able to do some things with it after you catch it. I feel like [to this point] Marcus has done everything he needs to do to get the ball to his receivers.”
This article coincides with what Titans wide receiver coach Shawn Jefferson said last month about Mariota. Said Jefferson at the time: “I am just giddy about his future going forward. He’s got the goods. No. 1, it’s his accuracy…”
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Titans are 200/1 long shots to win the 2016 Super Bowl but the praise couldn’t be higher for the team’s rookie quarterback.
