SEATTLE, WA (The Spread) – Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch told Conan O’Brien that he considered retiring before the team gave him a new contract.
“I mean, you know, in this game, you know, at this running back position, you don’t go that long,” Lynch told O’Brien. “But, I mean, they put 12 in front of you for a year you start to think like ‘Yeah, maybe I can do this again.'”
Replied Conan: “12 thousand dollars.”
Said Lynch: “Yeah, something like that.”
Lynch’s new deal includes $12 million for his earnings in 2015 and received a three-year deal worth a total of $31 million. The 29-year-old rushed for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns on 280 carries. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Seahawks are currently 13/2 to win the 2016 Super Bowl.
