LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) - Who will win the 2014 Jack Adams Award tonight? Let's check out the odds.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Patrick Roy of the Colorado Avalanche is a 1/5 favorite to win tonight's Jack Awards Award, given annually to the NHL coach "adjudged to have contributed the most to his team's success."
Meanwhile, Red Wings coach Mike Babcock has the next-best odds to win the Jack Awards Award, which will be given out tonight. Babcock is 9/2 to win, while Jon Cooper of the Tampa Bay Lightning is the current long shot at 10/1.
Colorado finished with the best record in a tough Western Conference this year, going 52-22 and racking up 112 points. As for Detroit, it finished fourth in the Eastern Conference but Babcock did more with less as the Red Wings overachieved for the second straight year. Tampa Bay, meanwhile, finished second in the East behind only Boston after notching 101 points.
The 2014 Frank J. Selke Trophy will also be handed out tonight and according to oddsmakers, Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins is a 2/7 favorite to win. Anze Kopitar of the Kings has the next-best odds at 11/4 while Jonathan Toews of the Blackhawks is 15/1. The award is given out annually to the NHL forward who demonstrates the most skill in the defensive component of the game.
