The 2012 NBA Finals kicks off Tuesday at 9:00PM ET and oddsmakers have installed the Thunder as 5-point favorites over the Heat in Game 1. The over/under total for Tuesday’s game is 194.
The Thunder managed to finish off the Spurs in six games, all while erasing a 2-0 series deficit. They covered in five of those six games, including two of the three contests in which they were underdogs. They also covered all three times they were favored, which bodes well for bettors that want to back them in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
The Heat, meanwhile, needed all seven games to finish off the Boston Celtics in the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals. They only covered in three of those seven games, although two of those covers came in back-to-back contests in Game 6 and Game 7. They covered as a 2-point favorite in Game 6 and then came back in Game 7 and covered as an 8-point favorite.
LeBron James leads all players in points per game this offseason with 30.8, while Kevin Durant is third with 27.8 PPG. Serge Ibaka leads all players in field goal percentage at .556 and blocks per game at .327. James is also fourth in steals per game with a 1.94 average.Want More From TheSpread.com?
