NASHVILLE, TN (The Spread) – It’s early, but rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota is already turning heads in Tennessee.
Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean notes that Mariota has impressed with his “arm strength and confidence running the offense” in the team’s OTA sessions this week. Wyatt admits that the rookie signal-caller has been “better than I thought he would out of the gate.”
Mariota is making a difficult transition from Oregon’s quarterback-friendly offense to a more pro-style system under coach Ken Whisenhunt. Chances are Whistenhunt is simplifying his offense to play to Mariota’s strengths in Year 1.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Titans are 200/1 long shots to win the 2016 Super Bowl. Along with the Jaguars, those are the worst odds of any team to win this year’s NFL championship.
