LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) - The opening lines are out for Game 3 of the 2014 Stanley Cup, where the Rangers are favored over the Kings.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Rangers are -122 money line favorites over the Kings, who are +113 money line underdogs for the first time in the series. The total opened at 5, which is the same number that oddsmakers had for Games 1 and Games 2.
The Kings haven't necessarily dominated the Rangers thus far but they do have a commanding 2-0 lead in the series. L.A. won Game 1 on Wednesday 3-2 in overtime and then took Game 2 with a 5-4 score in double OT. The total pushed in Game 1 and sailed over in Game 2.
Per latest NHL trends, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in New York, while the home team is now 6-2 in the last eight games. The Kings are also 4-1 in their last five games versus the Rangers, which obviously includes the first two games of this year's Stanley Cup.
Game 3 is currently set for 8:00PM ET on Monday at Madison Square Garden.
