OAKLAND, CA (The Spread) – Klay Thompson went to the locker room in the fourth quarter of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday night and is now dealing with concussion symptoms.
Following a pump fake, Trevor Ariza of the Rockets went flying and caught Thompson with a knee to the side of the head during Golden State’s Game 5 victory over Houston. Thompson walked back to the locker room under his own power and it was determined after the game that he developed concussion-like symptoms.
“Klay Thompson was evaluated by the Warriors medical staff immediately after suffering an injury during tonight’s game and was put through a concussion evaluation,” the team statement said. “At the time he did not show any concussion-like symptoms.”
Thompson said he was dizzy right after the game and his dad noted that his son threw up. The Warriors will host the Cavs for Game 1 of the 2015 NBA Finals next Thursday. Golden State opened as a 6-point favorite in that matchup according to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv.
