LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – For the first time since the NHL playoffs started, the Los Angeles Kings are now favored to win the 2014 Stanley Cup.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Kings are 10/11 to win the Stanley Cup, making them the current favorites. The Rangers, meanwhile, have the next-best odds at 7/5 while the Blackhawks are 8/1 and the Canadiens have the worst odds at 18/1.
Montreal is facing elimination tonight at the hands of New York and Chicago faces elimination on Wednesday versus Los Angeles. The Habs are actually -106 money line favorites over the Rangers, who are -102 on the money line tonight. The over/under total for that game is currently sitting at 5 goals.
Not surprisingly, a Kings-Rangers Stanley Cup Finals has the best odds at ¼, while a Blackhawks-Rangers matchup has the next-best odds at 11/2. A Kings-Canadiens Finals is currently 8/1 while a Blackhawks-Habs matchup has the worst odds at 33/1.
The Kings opened with 12/1 odds to win the 2014 Stanley Cup while the Hawks were 6/1 after winning the trophy last season. The Rangers, meanwhile, were 10/1, while the Canadiens had the worst odds of the final four at 30/1.
