CHICAGO, IL (The Spread) – Following his latest arrest for domestic violence, the Bears have released defensive lineman Ray McDonald before he ever took a snap with the team.
McDonald was arrested earlier Monday in California on domestic violence and child endangerment charges. According to Santa Clara police, McDonald was arrested at approximately 7:00 AM local time after officers said he “physically assaulted the victim while she was holding a baby.”
Due to his off-field track record with the 49ers, McDonald was placed on a no-tolerance policy when the Bears signed him back in March. He’s likely to face a stiff penalty from the NFL, possibly including a season-long suspension for his actions. Set to turn 31 in September, McDonald may have very well played his final down in the league.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bears are 50/1 long shots to win the 2016 Super Bowl.
