LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Who will be selected with the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft? Let’s check out the odds.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Andrew Wiggins is a 2/3 favorite to be the first player selected in this year’s draft. Joel Embiid has the next-best odds at 8/5, while Jabari Parker is 5/1 and the rest of the field is 15/1.
To be clear, the above odds reflect the No. 1 overall pick, and not necessarily who the Cleveland Cavaliers choose. They currently own the top pick, but the Cavs could choose to trade the selection to another team before the draft.
Speaking of which, will the Cavaliers trade the first overall selection? The odds are against that happening at 1/3, which means that you’ll win $1.00 for every $3.00 wager that you place on this prop bet. If you think the Cavs will trade the pick and they do, you’ll win $2.00 for every $1.00 that you wager.
The 2014 NBA Draft is set for Thursday, June 26. The top five picks belong to the Cavaliers, Bucks, 76ers, Magic and Jazz in that order. The Celtics, Lakers, Kings, Hornets (previously the Bobcats) and 76ers (from New Orleans) round out the top 10, in that order.
