LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – With the 2014 NBA Draft coming up on Thursday, June 26, let’s take a look at the current lottery odds.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bucks are currently favored at 11/4 to win the NBA draft lottery. The 76ers have the next-best odds at 7/2, while the Magic are 5/1 and the Jazz and Celtics are 9/1, respectively. The Lakers, meanwhile, are 14/1 while the Kings are 20/1 and the Pistons are 33/1.
Continuing with the odds, the Cavaliers are 50/1 long shots to win the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft lottery, while the Pelicans are 75/1 and the Nuggets (via the Knicks) are 100/1. The Magic, via the Nuggets, are also 100/1 long shots, as are the Timberwolves, while the Suns have the longest odds at 150/1.
Milwaukee had the worst record in the NBA in 2014 with a 15-67 record and thus, they have the best chance to win the No. 1 overall pick given the current Draft lottery system. The 76ers had the next-to-worst record at 19-63, while the Magic finished 23-59 and the Celtics and Jazz finished with a record of 25-57, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Heat and Spurs are both 17/10 favorites to win the current NBA Finals, respectively, while the Thunder are 17/4 and the Pacers are 5/1.
