(The Spread) – Oddsmakers have released odds for the 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championships, where two teams are favored.
According to oddsmakers Massachusetts and Loyola Maryland are both 9/2 favorites, respectively, while Duke has the next best odds at 6/1. Lehigh is 15/2, Virginia and Johns Hopkins are 17/2, respectively, and Notre Dame is 9/1.
Continuing with the odds, Princeton and North Carolina are both 14/1 to win, respectively, while Colgate is 15/1. Maryland is 18/1, Yale is 20/1 and Denver is 25/1. Syracuse is 35/1, Stony Brook is 125/1 and Canisius is a 250/1 long shot.
Virginia has won five Division I Lacrosse Championships since 1971, including the most recent title in 2011. Duke won the 2010 championship, which was the Blue Devils’ first Division I title, while Syracuse has won 11 titles, including back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2008.
You’d have to go all the back to 1975 to find the last time Maryland has won a Division I Lacrosse Championship. The Terps also won in 1973. If Loyola Maryland wins this year, it would be its first championship in the history of the tournament.Want More From TheSpread.com? Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or Subscribe to Our News Feeds!
