LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – The St. Louis Blues are in the midst of another postseason collapse and their latest Cup odds reflect their downfall.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Blues are now 15/1 to win the 2014 Stanley Cup. They were 15/2 heading into the NHL playoffs but with their 3-2 loss to the Blackhawks in Game 5 on Friday, their odds are now plummeting.
The Blackhawks, meanwhile, now have the second-best odds to win the Cup behind the Boston Bruins. The Hawks are now 9/2 to win, while the Bruins are still favored at 3/2. The Sharks, meanwhile, have the third-best odds to win it all at 6/2 while the Penguins are 15/2.
Continuing with the odds, the Ducks are 8/1 to win this year’s Stanley Cup while the Canadiens are 10/1 after eliminating the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first-round with a 4-0 sweep. The Avalanche have the same odds as the Blues at 15/1, while the Rangers are 17/1 and the Wild are 22/1.
Some of the current long shots are the Flyers at 25/1, the Blue Jackets at 45/1, and the Kings at 60/1. The Stars are 75/1 to win the Cup, while the Red Wings have the longest odds at 80/1. Detroit would need to win out in order to get past Boston in the first round. The Wings won the first game of the series in Boston but are now down three-games-to-one in the best-of-seven series.
