NEW ORLEANS (The Spread) – Will Bill Parcells become the head coach of the New Orleans Saints this season? Let’s check out the odds.
According to oddsmakers, the odds of Parcells joining the Saints this season as their head coach are 5/7, while the odds have not becoming New Orleans’ head coach are 1/1.
If Parcells is the next head coach of the Saints, will they make the playoffs? The odds for “Yes” are 1/2 while the odds for “No” are +150. This makes sense considering the Saints already have what some would describe as a Super Bowl-winning roster, led by quarterback Drew Brees.

Will Sean Payton be the head coach of the New Orleans Saints for Week 1 of the 2013 NFL Regular Season? The odds for “Yes” are stacked at 1/25, while the odds for “No” are currently 10/1. Payton has been suspended for one year by the NFL (which became effective on April 1), but he’s expected to be retained by the team for next season.
Payton is currently appealing his one game suspension but the punishment is expected to be upheld by Roger Goodell and the NFL. If that’s the case, Payton has either already gauged Parcell’s interest in becoming his fill-in for the 2012 season, or will do so soon.
