PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – After acquiring one Oklahoma Sooner on Tuesday, the Philadelphia Eagles might be closing in on another OU alum on Thursday.
Free agent running back DeMarco Murray will visit the Eagles on Thursday. ESPN’s Adam Caplan said that the team’s interest in Murray “got serious” on Wednesday, even after Philly signed former Chargers running back Ryan Mathews on Wednesday.
The Jaguars appear to have dropped out of the Murray sweepstakes by he could still be an option for the Raiders. There have been rumors that Murray will ultimately wind up back in Dallas although the Cowboys reportedly offered him $5 million per year, which is a figure that he should be able to best elsewhere.
On Tuesday the Eagles acquired quarterback Sam Bradford from the Rams in exchange for Nick Foles and draft pick compensation. Both Bradford and Murray played at Oklahoma so they could have a reunion of sorts in Philadelphia.
