INDIANAPOLIS, IN (The Spread) – With Frank Gore already locked up, the Colts could be adding another piece to build around quarterback Andrew Luck before the night’s over.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted that the Colts plan to sign Gore to a three-year, $12 million contract once the new league year starts at 4:00PM ET. The deal is expected to include $7.5 million guaranteed, which is slightly better than the offer Gore originally agreed to with the Eagles in the “legal tampering” period.
Speaking of Schefter, he also reports that former Texans receiver Andre Johnson is also meeting with the Colts on Tuesday night. Houston radio host Lance Zierlein tweeted that Johnson called Gore and the two former Miami Hurricanes agreed to play in Indianapolis, so it would appear as though Luck will have a new receicing option by the end of the evening.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Colts are currently 14/1 to win the 2016 Super Bowl but those odds could change after the Gore and Johnson signings become official. The same thing could be said for the team’s 9/2 odds to win the NFC Conference Championship next season.
