The Florida Gators take on the Volunteers Tuesday and Larry Cook suggests putting 3 units on Tennessee to cover the spread. Oddmakers from online sportsbook Bodog opened the betting line at Tennessee –9, but it has since gone up to –9.5.

Cook writes: The Tennessee Volunteers would love to put the Florida Gators in their place again tonight. Florida is coming off a 19-point road loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Tennessee beat the defending champion Gators by 10 points at home last season. That Gators’ squad was much more experienced than Florida is this season, playing with way too many freshman to even compete against the Volunteers on the road tonight. Tennessee is outscoring their foes by 25 points a game en route to a perfect 11-0 home record. They have only failed to cover the spread twice at home this season. Tennessee is 15-5 ATS in all home games over the last 2 seasons. The Volunteers will want to embarrass the Gators in front of a nationally televised audience on ESPN Tuesday. Bet Tennessee at home.

Public betting information shows that of the 4,689 wagers currently placed on tonight’s game, 74% of bettors like Tennessee to cover the 9.5-point spread. AccuScore agrees and has Tennessee as a 78% favorite.

Florida’s top three scorers are Nick Calathes (16.4 points per game, 6.6 assists and 6.6 rebounds), Jai Lucas (10.3 points per game, 2.6 assists and 2.5 rebounds) and Marreese Speights (9.8 points per game, 0.6 assists and 7.4 rebounds). Tennessee’s top three scorers are Chris Loften (15.1 points per game, 1.7 assists and 2.9 rebounds), JaJuan Smith (12.6 points per game, 1.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds) and Tyler Smith (12.0 points per game, 3.0 assists and 5.1 rebounds).
