ATLANTA, GA (The Spread) – How healthy will Falcons’ defensive end John Abraham be when Atlanta hosts the San Francisco 49ers in the 2013 NFC Championship Game?

There are some conflicting reports on whether or not Abraham practiced today in preparation for the NFC title game. Beat writer D. Orlando Ledbetter reported that Abraham didn’t practice but according to the team’s official twitter page, the defensive end was limited. Either way, unless his ankle heals over these next few days, Abraham is likely to be at least somewhat limited versus Colin Kaepernick on Sunday.
Also on the injury front for the Falcons, cornerback Chris Owens did not participate in practice and defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux was limited. Safety William Moore also has an injured hand but he did participate in practice on Wednesday.
As for the 49ers, right defensive end Justin Smith admitted today that he’s risking a full tear of his triceps by suiting up for the playoffs. “It’s like anything, if it’s half-torn or whatever, it could tear the rest of the way,” Smith told CSN Bay Area reporters. “I’m not really concerned about it.”
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the 49ers are currently 5-point favorites over the Falcons, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 49 points. The Niners opened as 3.5-point favorites while the total opened at 48.
