LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – The odds for Super Bowl XLVIII have been updated and the Seattle Seahawks remain the favorites to win this year’s NFL title.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Seahawks are 12/5 to win the 2014 Super Bowl while the Denver Broncos have the next-best odds at 13/5. The San Francisco 49ers, meanwhile, are 11/2 while the New England Patriots are 15/2 and the Carolina Panthers are 11/1. The underdogs to win this year’s Super Bowl are the Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers are 14/1, respectively.
The Seahawks are also favored to win the 2014 NFC Conference at 10/11, while the 49ers are 11/4 to win the conference title and the Panthers are 9/2. The Saints, who have to travel to Seattle this weekend and who are an 8-point underdog, have the worst odds to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl at 7/1. Ironically, they’re also the last team to win the Super Bowl out of this field of teams.
In the AFC, the Broncos are 5/7 to win the 2014 AFC Conference and the Patriots are 3/1. The Colts and Chargers are both 7/1, respectively, giving them the worst odds of any team left in the AFC field. The Broncos host the Chargers as a 10-point favorite this weekend while the Colts are a 7.5-point road underdog versus the Patriots.
Bovada.lv also released prop odds surrounding Marvin Lewis, who is now 0-5 in the playoffs after the Bengals lost to the Chargers as a 6.5-point favorite. Will Lewis be the head coach of the Bengals for Game 1 of the 2014 regular season? The odds are in favor of Lewis returning at -200 on the money line, while the odds of him not returning are +150.
