NEW YORK (AP) -Yankees catcher Jorge Posada returned to the starting lineup Saturday after sitting out with a sore left thumb. Posada was hit by a foul ball in Wednesday night's 4-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners. He struck out as a pinch hitter Thursday and sat out Friday's 4-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. ``I'm a little concerned if it gets banged again,'' manager Joe Girardi said. ``But if he doesn't get any foul tips and catches everything cleanly you would think that he would be OK.'' Posada batted sixth against Toronto. The switch hitter entered with a .267 average, 10 homers and 33 RBIs. |
